Thank you for visiting the website of Monica Farris Linkner, a Michigan attorney who's handled hundreds of adoption and ARTs cases over the last 15 years.  In the early '90s, Ms. Linkner helped to pioneer new adoption laws in the State of Michigan, making Michigan's adoption process easier to navigate and more "user-friendly."  Most important, Ms. Linkner is an adoptive parent herself. Her own adoption experience 20 years ago started her journey to become a nationally recognized adoption expert, handling cases in Michigan and throughout the United States.

My Philosophy:

Whether you are adopting, placing a child for adoption, or expanding your family through ARTs (Assisted Reproductive Technology), I understand that your  case is one of the most important events that will happen in your life.

I will treat your concerns, questions, emotions and unique situation with the respect they deserve.

As an adoption and ARTs professional, my goal is to offer my clients sound guidance and assistance in making well-informed, comfortable choices, and topnotch representation as we work together to achieve your goals.

 Highlights of My Practice:

Full-service representation in all types of adoption and assisted reproductive technology (ARTs) cases.

• Careful explanation of the legal process you are about to undertake: your rights, available choices, anticipated costs, and what to expect at each step.

Treating each client with kindness, dignity and respect,  offering you the opportunity to speak openly without being judged.

Maintaining strict ethical standards and preserving  your confidentiality.

Recognizing each case is unique and tailoring our services to your particular situation, while making sure all legal requirements are met, whether you are seeking to adopt, placing a child for adoption, or are in a surrogate or gestational carrier relationship.

• A willingness to answer your questions, even the hard ones.

Referrals to experienced professionals for home studies, counseling, support groups, and health care needs.

Permissible expenses billed through this office, itemized for our clients, and submitted to the court for approval as required, to ensure that only lawful expenses are paid, preventing later challenges to the adoption or surrogacy.

• Facilitation of post-placement contact between birthparents and adoptive parents, or surrogate/gestational carrier and intended parents, if desired.

• Extensive experience in both Michigan and interstate  cases.  As a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, I have a strong network of the top adoption and ARTs experts throughout the U.S. and Canada.
